Why pay when free templates exist?

Good free templates are out there, and some shops do fine with them. Here is what you get with an NQT kit:

  • Working Excel trackers, not just documents. The audit-prep kits include an Excel tracker with a readiness summary, NCR and CAPA logs and an audit schedule, with example rows showing how each is filled in. The ISO 9001 kit adds a risk register and objectives; the AS9100D kit adds an FAI characteristic log.
  • Sized for small shops. The forms and procedures are written for a shop without a full QA department, so there's less to cut out before you can use them.
  • A current edition, with the date on it. Each kit is labeled with its version and revision date (for example, v1 Rev A, 2026-10), so you know when it was last updated. For the ISO 9001:2026 change, there's a separate transition and gap kit. See our kit update policy.
  • Built by someone who has done the job. Made by a US Navy veteran and former SpaceX Falcon 9 quality inspector and QA supervisor.
